This Privacy Policy describes how Luxano Labs Inc. ("Luxano", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information you provide or that we gather when you visit luxanolabs.com (the "Site") or contact us.

1. Who we are

Luxano Labs Inc. is a Canadian enterprise technology company headquartered at 1000 McGarry Terrace, Suite 44, Ottawa, Ontario K2J 4G8, Canada, with operating presence in Nairobi, Kenya.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the Site and respond to you:

  • Information you provide directly. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company (optional), topic, and the contents of your message.
  • Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referrer). This data is pseudonymous and not used to identify individuals.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, user agent, request paths, timestamps) for security and performance purposes.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising on third-party platforms.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Google Analytics may set cookies on your device for measurement and session attribution. You can opt out by adjusting your browser settings, installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or using browser-level Do Not Track signals.

5. Sharing of information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Service providers we rely on to operate the Site (web hosting, email delivery, analytics). These providers are contractually obligated to handle data securely and only on our instructions.
  • When required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Luxano, our customers, or others.

6. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (including Google) may process data outside of Canada, including in the United States. We rely on the standard contractual and privacy protections offered by these providers and take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an equivalent level of protection.

7. Data retention

  • Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the last meaningful interaction, then deleted unless we have an ongoing business relationship.
  • Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics 4 default retention settings.
  • Server logs are typically retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting.

8. Your rights under PIPEDA

If you are a resident of Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") gives you certain rights:

  • The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
  • The right to request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • The right to withdraw consent to our processing of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual limits.
  • The right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. This includes HTTPS encryption for data in transit, restricted internal access, and secure hosting infrastructure. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the Site.
